Movie buffs from around the world flock to Hollywood every year. This is the perfect place to see where your favorite movie or sitcom is filmed. If you decide to visit Hollywood don't forget your camera. You'll be glad you have it when your favorite star walks right past you on sunset strip or rodeo drive. Star-searching is one of Hollywood's best activities.

Great Tours: Where the Stars Live and Work

Movie star home tours are a popular activity in Hollywood. You can purchase a map from a street vendor and take a self guided tour or you may opt for a guided bus tour. The buses are usually air conditioned and most tour guides are knowledgeable and animated. You can usually save money by booking your tour online in advance, but if you don't it shouldn't be a problem to purchase them retail the day you want a tour.

Speaking of tours, don't miss a spin through one of Hollywood's many movie studios. Universal studios provide not only a great tram tour of some cinema classics but there's also the theme park with spectacular rides and vibrant activities. You'll find fun for the whole family at Universal Studios.

For an intimate tour of a movie studio, check out Warner Bros. Studios. You'll find yourself in a group of no bigger than 15. Here's a chance to see where classics like ''The Dukes of Hazard'' and ''The Waltons'' were filmed. There are many other classic settings and opportunities to see shows and films in progress.

Paramount studios and NBC studios provide tours at much cheaper rates and you can usually get a ticket to see your favorite sitcom filmed.

Fabulous Shopping:

If you're a shopaholic then don't miss the shopping of a lifetime on Rodeo Drive. With such stores as Chanel, Fred Hayman, Gucci, and Bijan you can dress and look like a star. Pick something out for the fabulous nightlife.

Hollywood Nightlife:

Once you're dressed to impress get down to Sunset Boulevard and grab a margarita at El Coyote or a martini at Bar Marmont. Next you'll want to check out a famous band at the House of Blues and later dance the night away at Key Club.

Finding a Place to Stay:

Lodging won't be tough to find. There are hotels in Hollywood that are affordable and friendly. Book your reservation online or call ahead.
