Italian charm bracelets are made of stainless steel interlocking links that can easily be taken apart and put together. The bracelets stretch to fit over your hand - there's no clasp to worry about. Instead of dangling from a chain most charms for Italian bracelets are soldered to a flat link. There are some dangly charms available but they are not as big or elaborate as the old charm bracelets.
You start with a base bracelet. Depending on the size of your wrist you'll need 15 - 20 links. The most common size link is 9 mm. There are larger links but it's harder to find charms for them.
